...and you are out onto a fenced Patio with canopy, table & chairs and a Barbeque. Step down from the Patio onto the lawn with its fruit trees, flowers and shrubs. There are herbs for you to use too.
The garden is fenced and is for your exclusive use during your stay. During the growing season we do come in to cut the grass (when you're out and definitely not on a Sunday) The cherry tree fruits around the end of June (we'll lend you our cherry stoner) and there are apples for picking in September & October.
... Watch out for the 'playboy' cow!!
One of our guests said that he and his wife enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the cows go in for milking and asked if we had seen the cow with the playboy logo? It was 6 months later when brother-in-law Bob finally snapped her! This picture is one I took a couple of days ago - I always look out for her when I drive past the field and, for the first time, actually saw her myself.
Fortunately the camera was aboard!
Apart from the cows... there is plenty of insect and birdlife to watch for. We have Swallowtails breeding in the garden and Hummingbird moths are regular visitors. There are finches, songbirds, red and green woodpeckers and buzzards. A barn owl lives close by and can be seen hunting at night. We have put a set of binoculars in the cottage for you to use.
